As far as pcmcia wireless cards and Linux working on laptops, I've used:
  Linksys WPC11 versions 1,2,4* cards.
  Netgear MA401 versions 2.4,2.5*
  D-link DWL-650+*

* = Drivers are not integrated in Redhat distros

Compact Flash
   D-Link DCF-660W

I am using the D-Link DCF-660W Compact Flash wireless card in the 
Zaurus. No driver support was needed as it worked out of the box.
