That would probably be the best route, as you can reuse the card in your future laptop. Again, do the research on google and find a PCMCIA adapter and wifi card that Linux supports. I recommend a wifi card that supports and external antenna jack, since the wifi card will be in the back of your PC. Anything else will be barely usuable I would think.
