I don't know which room I will get so I don't know what kind of signal I will get. I will get my room on the 15th, so I will know then. I will be in Stokes hall, and I don't think it has a wired network in it.

So 11b and 11a use different radios... there are cards that do both but they are pretty expensive. Find out if the AP's you'll be connecting to are 11g, or if they have plans to goto 11g in the next year or so. If not, i'd just get the 11b card to save some $$$...
