Hello guys,

I would like to request a Guest Speaker. This is for LS-LAMP at UL at
Lafayette on Nov 6 @ 5p - 6p. I am looking for a seasoned member to speak on
Open Source: What is it; Where is it going; Why should I know this. I am
mostly concerned about my CMPS and Electrical Engineering students.

I know this is a long shot considering the location and time. However, I am
hoping someone would be available. Lafix is not yet organized enough to ask
and others I am aware of are too "fire and brimstone" in either direction. I
guess this means that all of you are the most informative, understanding, and
level-headed.

You will receive a fine dinner at one of Lafayette's best resturants: Seoul
Asiana, Pasados, Dean O's, and La Pizzeria to name a few of your choices.
Without doubt, this does include the Beer, Saki, or mix drink of your liking as
well as coffee and desert. If you are in need of office supplies such as
paper, pens, post-its, we should be able to make a deal.

Please request any other compensation. I will see what we can work out.
(no smart remarks on that :O) please)

Thanks,

Sonja

Its not linux, and its definately not free/opensource, but, I just heard
that ULL is upgrading 100+ sun workstations to nice new sun blade
workstations. If anyone is interested, I can see what they are going to
do with thier old sun workstations (about 5 years old).
