I was able to get streaming internet working (spent two days trying install something then I discovered that Realplayer was already installed.). Anyway, now I am trying to get Neopets to work. When I click on a game to play (in Mozilla) I get a message that the Flash plugin needs to be installed. But Flash works on other Flash sites, like at the Strong Bad site. Message-ID: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Those of you with an old copy of Open Linux sitting around can install and run Word Perfect with alien. The formerly good people at Caldera made RPM's of Word Perfect. RPM might have dealt with them directly, but alien seemed safer. It installed wp8 and some kde stuff in an /opt directory. This might cause problems if you have a small root partition and no /opt partition. I'm not sure what the kde stuff did, nor did I check much else very carefully, but it ran with a few old libraries. http://lists.debian.org/debian-user/2001/debian-user-200106/msg03306.html and recommended loading: xlib6 libc5 xpm4.7 Before loading, the /opt/wp8/wpbin/xwp binary reports "can't load library 'libXt.so.6'". After loading the libraries, it comes up. I had tried and failed to install the old no-cost Word Perfect 8, which worked under Red Hat 6.x. I'm not sure if I managed to get all the old libraries above, or if that would have helped. This gets around those problems in either case. It's nice to have Word Perfect running on Debian. It works through ssh X forwarding. I have not tried printing yet, and it will be interesting to see what kinds of fonts it brought with it. It will also be interesting to see how it handles windoze generated stuff with equations and pictures and all. Yeah, it only took me three years to make use of my Caldera Open Linux 2.3 box. You did not give it to me in vain, Dustin.
