I did not have time see what the exploit was but i patched it using the info on these pages For redhat grab the rpms from https://rhn.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2003-279.html the instruction on patching is also given there
for debian check the following advisory http://lists.debian.org/debian-security-announce/debian-security-announce-2003/msg00187.html I am note sure of the other distributions. hope this helps.
