Look in the .mbx file for that mail folder.  It is just a text file, and
contains the actual messages.  Chances are the messages are still there,
just your .toc file is corrupted.  Rename the toc file and start Eudora
again.  It either rebuilds the toc file automatically, or there is a menu
option to rebuild it (i forget).  In any event you can rebuild toc from
mbx.  If your mbx file is hosed, then you're screwed...
