The RedHat arguments make sense to me - I know it takes a little "fiddling" to get RH running on some machines. I'll burn 10 or 15 Knoppix cds, we'll drop them off at the booth on Wed. morning.
Should we also include some text on the knoppix cds on how to start it? Maybe something like: 1) insert cd and restart computer 2) wait for the boot prompt 3) type "knoppix [start options]" or press "F2" to see list of available start options common knoppix start options: knoppix lang=us knoppix lang=us screen=1024x768 wheelmouse James > -----Original Message----- > From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On > Behalf Of Karthik Poobalasubramanian > Sent: Sunday, September 21, 2003 4:22 AM > To: [email protected] > Subject: Re: [brlug-general] Okay, now we need the CDs. > > may be we should stick with knoppix. knoppix is really good. as far as > redhat 9 is we have to give out 3 cds. atleast the first and third 'cause > with default setup it would ask for the third cd. > also i think we are giving these cds away to people who haven't used > linux and chances are they would mess up the system with redhat or other > distributions and may prove negative publicity to us.don't get me wrong I > still use rh9 but knoppix seems to do it better besides is debian. > > karthik > > > On Sun, 21 Sep 2003, Dustin Puryear wrote: > > > Whatever we do I would like it to be standard.
