I appreciate the help everybody.  It echoed my
opinion, which I really liked.

I told her to go for a Dell Dimension, keep the
extra's to a minimum because she can add those latter
and Christmas is only three months away.  (She is a
student, she doesn't buy her own presents yet.)

I told her to buy as good as she could afford and not
to be stingy with the RAM.

I think she has to buy today or tomorrow, so we can
drop this thread.
