IFF (math term, quick who gets it?) they are sending from differnet locations. I can't nail a pattern. I generally send to the list from home. Which means Yahoo. I am on a couple of other lists and do not see this behavior, so I tend to rule out yahoo, but, it could still their fault.
Just every so often I get two of everything. After I thought people were posting to two lists, like newbies and General, or admin and general. When I got to be an issue the other when I got nothing but doubles I knew that wasn't the case. Somewhere there is a Win2K IIS server in the loop, that's all I can think. It knows we have twice the speed, and twice the brains, so it pumps out double messages. BTW, Sorry about the delay, my wife has been ill. No big deal, the flu swept their building.
