as far as Nvidia goes, I have a gf2 ti 200 (i think it is a gf2) with 32mb. when
I tried to install the nvidia drivers my x stopped working.
I heard that ATI has native linux support. I'm not sure if that goes for all
distributions though ... it may have only been rh (& clones).
again to repeat what others have said ... good luck getting the dvd to work from
the pc ... last I heard (which is a few years old now) the dvd decoding drivers
for linux were not upto par (based on the fact that there was no OpenRSCA
drivers written yet, but that may have changed) ... but if you can view them
now, that great.
