As much of a linux zealot as I am, I actually quit using my Zaurus just because it was a pain in the ***. Sync with Linux was a real pain, battery life sucked, etc. When you sync with the windows stuff, I believe that it makes a tcp/ip connection with the zaurus over the USB cable.
