Good point, but note that the article specifically mentions the benefits of open source software and not just Linux. When I said "We will win." I was speaking for the free and open source software community and not just the Linux community.
I think that the BSDs will grow in popularity especially on the server and security end once open source software is used by the majority of the mainstream IT market. As others have stated before: "All boats rise equally in a rising tide." I also think it is very likely that once M$ falls from its majority market share, Linux boxen will become the next target of choice of hax0rs. At that point, the BSDs will become the next "salvation" for the "crisis".
