Ah, Doom. The game that changed everything. The game that first motivated me to install a 10bT card in my 486 and learn how to setup a network.
Here's the announcement from id's Dave Taylor about porting Doom to Linux: http://www.ibiblio.org/pub/historic-linux/distributions/slackware/2.1/contrib.4cd/linux-x-doom/README.linux BTW: You can play Doom on your Linux box (including a Sharp Zaurus): http://prboom.sourceforge.net/ Today's home page on Linux Games has more writeup on Doom's 10th birthday: http://www.linuxgames.com/ And finally, I found this on boingboing.net: "At this particular moment in time I don't believe I have a healthier or more deeply felt respect for any object in the Universe than this here shotgun..." http://www.doomworld.com/10years/doomcomic/comic.php?page=6 Thanks, id, for 10 years of decreased productivity. -- John Hebert System Engineer I T Group, Inc. 225-922-4535
