Looks like they block ftp coming into their net. I wanted to get some files
from home and I only had a windoze box to work with. Putty worked but the sftp
tool would not. I started proftp but could not see it on port 21. I thought
about changing ports but did not know which port to try.

Another annoying thing is ssh gets killed every 20 minutes or so if you let it
sit. I'm not sure if that's Cox, Windoze or the crappy Windoze "server" that
acts as the gateway where I work.

What do those idiots at Cox thing they are doing? They already crimped upload
speeds to something crappy like 30KB/s and sporadic. Do they think ftp users
are bandwidth hogs all of the sudden? What's next, they block everything but
port 80?
