You may also be interested in the following rebuttal of that article: http://www.devx.com/opensource/Article/20135 The author, Russell Jones, is the Executive Editor of DevX.com. I am very surprised and disturbed that someone at that level of a supposedly unbiased website devoted to covering computer programming and development technologies would be so obviously biased against open source software. IMO, he is a Microsoft shill and is acting at Microsoft's request, as Microsoft is the major advertiser on DevX's site. This begs the question: What is the taxonomy of various IT media organizations? In other words, which IT magazines does Microsoft own and have a major influence in controlling published content? It is obvious that the majority of free and open source advertising and content is web based, I assume because of the low cost and geek-oriented nature of it. So if you are not already aware of it, media can be biased in the reporting. Try to always determine who owns the media outlet to determine the bias. ===== John Hebert Official BRLUG Linux Curmudgeon Open Source Ankle Biter __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!?
