Howdy,
I broke my leg last Saturday and will be
getting surgery on it next Tuesday morning.
What the HAIL did you do, get into a butt kicking contest and loose?
Would someone be willing to give a demonstration on
installing Mepis Linux to a group of Linux newbies?
The location is a classroom setup with excellent A/V
capabilities. A working PC will be required for the
demonstration, though it may be possible to organize
such a machine through the CCCC Linux SIG. Since Mepis
is a bootable Linux CD, a working CDROM drive that can
be booted is required in the demo PC.
I will be glad to help with this activity if I am available, but I am presently
on 24 hour callout for a substation installation for one of our clients, so I
could be called at a moments notice and have to leave immediately. I have a
computer with a drive bay in it that is available for the demonstration whether
I am there or not. It is the same one that I used for the Xandros demo back in
December. Its not a hot rod but all the hardware is well supported. It is an
AMD K6-700, 384 meg ram, two video cards, CD-ROM drive, CD burner, Sound
Blaster PCI 128 (I think), network card, and whatever hard drive we decide to
put in there. I have installed Mepis a couple of different times and am
reasonably well versed in using and configuring it.
Lemme know.
