I just scanned through and all I could find was an article on archiving all incoming and outgoing mail on a sendmail smtp server. not what he wants to do. I'd imagine the mdirarchive script I linked to earlier could modified to output into a database instead of monthly maildirs. I find it just as easy to do things like: [EMAIL PROTECTED] grep "whatever" ~/.maildir/.ArchiveMail.2003-*/*/* | less <spotted something apparently relevant> [EMAIL PROTECTED] mutt -f ~/.maildir/.ArchiveMail-2003-08 Or I could use something like mairix (http://www.rc0.org.uk/mairix/) to do indexing and searching. You run mairix out of cron to index your folders. You can then run a search and build a maildir of search results which you would open in a normail client -- Scott Harney<[EMAIL PROTECTED]> "Asking the wrong questions is the leading cause of wrong answers" gpg key fingerprint=7125 0BD3 8EC4 08D7 321D CEE9 F024 7DA6 0BC7 94E5
