I agree with this. If you've had a good working relationship with this consultant in the past, or expect one in the future, then you should probably let it go. IMHO, 3 hours is not a LOT of time. You and the consultant could both agree that you got screwed on that one, and ask for prepayment from that customer in the future. If the consultant says he/she hasn't been paid either and you don't trust that, whether true or not, then there are lots of either reasons besides money why you shouldn't be working with him/her. If you don't plan to work for the consultant again, then you're certainly within your rights to demand payment for services rendered. However the consultant will be very reluctant to use you again, and may even bad mouth you to his/her consultant friends. Your reputation is key in the consultancy game, and a bad one spreads a whole lot faster than a good one. So ask yourself if that is worth the 3 hours. ray
