Sure. Install any linux distro which should come with a recent version of sendmail and pop/imap servers. Give it an ip/dns address. Then add your users, set passwords, and you're good. That should work out of the box with most distros. Some may advise against sendmail as it can be a bear to configure. But properly configured, it runs and runs well. (sendmail is like unix...you can learn the basics in a few hours, and spend the rest of your life learning the rest). When you want to get fancy, add mimedefang, spamassassin and clamav. This will give you attachment blocking, spam scoring, and virus scanning. All open source, and free. You could also use helo checks, greylisting, and RBLs to further reduce your spam/virus intake. mimedefang is very flexible if you're not afraid of coding a little perl. ray
