I switched my workstation from Mandrake to Debian proper to check out KDE 3.2.2. It is pretty sweet... I started with the sarge netinst cd, then updated to sid unstable. A few packages in sid are broken, so i had to fix/repackage them manually. It messed up the grub install, didn't put my network card in modutils, and didn't even attempt to get the sound working. Being my first foray into debian, apt and dpkg, it was quite a learning experience. Debian unstable is definitely not for the faint of heart, but once i got everything setup, it is pretty stable (only been running 2 days). Getting sound working was another major pain, but it works now. Bottom line: apt rocks. ray
