When it was installed and first tested, supermike was the 11th fastest 
in the world, and second in the academic world.  That might be what you 
are thinking about.  It also does run red hat, but I'm not sure what 
version.  Apparently there were plans to upgrade from red hat 7.2 to 
both 8.0 and rhel 3.  I'm not sure what they did.
