Thanks for reminding me - our old cards didn't support WPA so I configured our WAP to use 128-bit WEP (figured it was better than nothing). The new cards have WPA so I just changed everything over to WPA after seeing your post.
Also, watch out for "rogue" networks in your area. We have one in our neighborhood that has a pretty strong signal, no WEP/WPA, and didn't check MACs. Our old cards did not allow you to explicitly list "safe" networks and would automatically grab the strongest signal they could find and connect to it - sometimes grabbing this network. Luckily our new cards give you better control over what networks they will connect to - I have them set up to only attach to networks I have explicitly identified as "safe". About not broadcasting the SSID, it seems that all it does is hide the name of your network - without the MAC limit and WEP/WPA in place the cards I've tried will still connect to the network. I don't broadcast mine - just on prinicple, not for security.
