I don't know about the clustering version, but you can get the source for povray for free at povray.org.
Also, this month's Linux Journal has an article about some of the mods for it to visualize large data sets, etc. The article covers using the output from a thunderstorm analysis program to feed povray for visual images of the clouds. I've also discovered (the hard way) that kpovmodeler will not compile under gcc 3.4, so you'll need either an older version of gcc, or some patience while the kde devs update the code.
