I have burnt programs into both 16F84 and 16F628 What programmer/software are you using?.
I built my own $10 programmer (no parts programmer), it will burn both the above mentioned chips. I am going to try and find the link to the circuit for you. As far as the programming software goes in WinXP I use... www.ic-prog.com (maybe it already supports your programmer) http://www.ic-prog.com/settings.html http://www.ic-prog.com/programmers.html works fine under winXP, the only thing however is that I had to download and use http://www.ic-prog.com/icprog_driver.zip I like IC prog because it program's all of my atmels as well.
