Hey everyone,

Just wanted to give everyone a little information about the distro I'm
using now. I decided to try a new Slax, formally Slackware Live. I've
used Slackware Live before and it was quite nice. Slax is a very nice
distro that includes the programs I need and only those. It comes with
KDE and Fluxbox (which I prefer). It doesn't have OpenOffice, but it
does have Kate, Kwrite, and another which I forget. The thing that made
me decide to install it to the HD (since it is a LiveCD) was that it
actually detected my PCI Siemens NIC, which no other distro had done.
It is very good for people who you know that may mess up things playing
with settings since all user level settings are reset on each reboot
unless you save them. The only bad thing is when you reboot it also
removes all files in the /root/ and /user/guest/ directories unless you
did a save. The solution is simple though, create another user and
don't use root, just su.
