Verge has downtown covered fairly well, along with quite a few Sonic Drive-In's (at least, that's what the website says). I've got a client who needed a quick way to check web-mail in the downtown area; they are able to use the Verge system free, as long as they accept a user agreement and can live with a reduced bandwidth allotment.
