Thanks for passing that on, John. I'd be happy to introduce teachers with less experience to free software on Monday the 21st. What I have to say can be followed by someone with specific information for more experienced users.
I'll bet that Ed Richards and Joe Zachary would also like to help. We teach the Desktop Linux Special Interest Group (SIG) at the Cajun Clicker's Computer Club, http://lists.clickers.org/~linuxsig The Linux Desktop SIG is free to anyone interested. We can provide new user friendly distributions on CD, Mepis and Xandros. The SIG also has an active mailing list for newbies. It just happens that the same Monday night, the SIG is having an installfest. After that, we will present a series of workshops designed to migrate users to free software without losing legacy software use or information. Send us your new users. Our workshops are designed to assist both experienced Microsoft users and complete computer novices. This year's new users can be next year's experienced users with a little help.
