I think the ASP based online software model is a good one. If anything, you know your software is up to date and can follow you where ever you have a web browser and internet connectivity. Many others have been thinking about and proposing the same idea for a few years now. I believe even Microsoft has stated in the past that it intends to go that route. I guess it is a matter of PC capability and market acceptance.
Here's a few existing online office suites: http://dir.yahoo.com/Business_and_Economy/Business_to_Business/Communications_and_Networking/Internet_and_World_Wide_Web/Application_Service_Providers__ASPs_/Office_Suites/ Concerning making OpenOffice into an online web app; since OO is written in Java, providing an applet interface is at least doable. I'll bet other OO developers have considered the same idea. Check the OO developer mailing list archives. John __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Tired of spam? Yahoo!
