A Forbes article on search engine wars was worth a laugh today but it was also
disturbing.

Stuff like this will keep people away from Microsoft searches:

A search that does not find results is one that does not work, regardless of
how easy it is to use or how clever the engineers who made it are.

The problem with Microsoft attention is the underhanded part of that
attention. It's all fine and good for Bill to be upset and try to build a
search engine. What worries me is the way Microsoft does ugly things, like
this:

With billions to spend, Microsoft can do a lot to break Google. Fake
community sites to clutter Google's page rank are right in line with
Microsoft marketing techniques which have included the "Apple Switcher" and
fake letters to US representatives. I'm sure the "smartest employees
[marketing obviously] on the planet" can come up with more devious schemes
and have already launched them.
