Ryan, I recently gave a presentation to some MIS majors on Network Security. On the topic of security costs, i talked a bit about open source and included a spreadsheet of the money we've saved using open source for various projects. The numbers are very rough guesstimates... but i believe we included cost of paid support/maintenance/training over 3-5 years in our guesses. The last 2 slides are of interest, but the rest may interest you also. It's openoffice format, here: http://www.r-a-y.org/work/ As a state agency that is having much success with OSS, I'd like to see the state get out of Microsoft mentality and start using OSS as much as possible. If I can do anything to assist with your presentation (I assume you work for DSS, or a contractor?), shoot me an email or give me a call at 985-549-3643. ray -- =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ray DeJean http://www.r-a-y.org Systems Engineer Southeastern Louisiana University IBM Certified Specialist AIX Administration, AIX Support =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
