It's entirely likely, nay, almost a certainty that the bulk of people who will be sending mailed comments about this are not part of those who will be actually using the website. Especially since it was posted on slashdot and certainly thousands of basement dwellers are this instant scurrying to the post office for their 37c of glory. ;-)
