How about a group of Linux geeks going downtown to the CACRC (
http://www.cacrc.com) warehouse to install Linux on all the refurbished PCs
they are building and donating to the Red Cross and other shelters? I know
they are doing it right now in Lafayette at the Acadiana Open Channel
offices.

I've seen rumors on the web though I don't have any URLs at the moment that
Firefox and Opera can process the infamous FEMA forms for evacuees just
fine. Testing recommended of course.

Trying to get in touch with David Grant at the CACRC but it is difficult
since I work during the day. Anybody have free time tomorrow to go speak
with him? David is Director of the Computers for Louisiana's Kids project at
the CACRC and is keen on Linux though he is a newbie. He sees the benefits
of free software and freedom.

John,

Here is one of the link that tells of how to workaround it.

http://www.zdnet.com/5208-11202-0.html?forumID=1&threadID=13147&messageID=262207&start=-1

I am most interested in being part of the group of geeks. However,
seeing that we need to put in a hack to work with the FEMA page, we
probably one a LiveCD that has the hack in it. Knowledge of how to
modify the PublicWebStations LiveCD...

Thanks,

Boon
