Greetings,
Many of you already know that we refurbish used computers for non-profit
organizations and low income families. Since the hurricane, there has been a
huge demand for computers for displaced non-profit organizations and
families. We are partnering with the Christina Foundation, which is a
national organization that connects people with a need, to resources where
they can obtain computer equipment. We have already given over 100 units of
equipment to hurricane relief, but we need help to refurbish and distribute
more. I have been in contact with John Hebert, a member of this group that
is volunteering his time assisting in Gonzalez. He mentioned that there
would be a good response from others in the group if we let everyone know
about the need for volunteers. I know that many of you have very strong
feelings about M$, as do I, but all of our images contain some version of
windows already. This is what we are installing on computers that we are
distributing. So, in closing, if anyone is willing to set aside their
feelings about M$, and assist us in preparing computer hardware or imaging
them with operating systems, we need your help. If anyone is interested,
email or call me at the information below. Thanks for your time, and I hope
to hear from you soon.

David,

What are your hours of operation? Are you open on weekends? I'd like to
volunteer in the evenings and some on the weekends but since I work from 8
to 5 during the week I was wondering when I could do it.

Should we bring our own tools? I assume we should wear work clothes.

Thanks,
John Hebert
