Has anyone played with Parallels yet? www.parallels.com From their web site:

Parallels Workstation is a powerful, easy to use, cost effective desktop
virtualization solution that empowers PC users with the ability to create
completely networked, fully portable, entirely independent virtual machines on
a single physical machine.

I have it installed here at work on this Dell box running Win 2000 Pro. I have
Xandros 3.0.2 Business Edition running in it. A couple of issues that I need to
work out are:

1. I haven't figured out how to resize (it won't let me drag the edges of the
window) the window that Parallels is running Xandros in which means that I
can't access the Launch menu/Panel in windowed mode because the Parallels
virtual window is larger than the physical screen that it is running on, so I
have to switch to full screen mode to use them.

2. We are behind a firewall at work that uses an automatic proxy configuration
URL to configure itself. I have that working properly with Firefox but I can't
get it to work with Xandros Networks, which, for you that may not be familiar
with Xandros Networks, is a GUI for apt-get that makes package and system
management (OS updates/upgrades) very easy.

3. I haven't figured out how to access the Window$ C drive from Xandros.

Observations

1. "Booting" Xandros is SLOW, by comparison to a native boot up.
2. Launching applications is a little bit slower than in native mode.
3. Once launched, applications seem to run at native speed.
4. So far, everything seems to be quite stable.

Overall, I am impressed and like Parallels a lot. If the price is reasonable
when it is commercially launched, I will definately pop for it.
