Ed. , Try the new system rescue disk http://distrowatch.com/ It has the latest 
QTparted which will handle the re-sizing ok. Also it has Ranish partition  
manager, which I depended on when I was in Windows land!
It will handle NTSF also. The disk also has XOSL for linux, and is a great boot 
manager. When do you and Will want to get together to plan the next Sig and the
