The links to basic commands and additional references are nice.  As they said 
at their first meeting while handing out Ubuntu CDs, "Linux is good for you."  

I've mentioned krename once here, but I'd like to mention it again because 
it's been very useful to me lately.  The graphical pattern rename is nice, 
but what's really been cool is calling it from a command line.  It takes 
filenames as an input, so you can call it with a complex find or a list cat 
as an input.  One of the output options is to make symbolic links instead of 
files.  Using this combination makes hunting down and organizing files of s 
particular type easy.
