I haven't heard anything about administering linux machines...I doubt they'll do anything unless linux starts giving them a lot of work to do. I think that policy was mainly for LSU depts running their own ADs that weren't through LSU's, but using LSU's network and wanting to connect to lsu stuff....not really for the stuff ya'll are talking about, but I never read the whole thing. I heard it was put on the grok somewhere.
Some mac/linux/etc people want to join the LSU AD (by free choice!), it makes it easier to connect to shares or something...I never do that, so I dunno. LSU is leaving my linux and freebsd servers alone, and I haven't heard anything about that going to change. -josh On 9/26/07, B.
