When I was a school kid, the School for the Deaf was on St. Ferdinand Street in an old building that looked like a set for a horror movie. We lived a few blocks away. One day I went over to watch a high school JV team play their team. Our team expected to win easily, but it was not to be. Instead of going into a huddle, their quarterback called plays in sign language at the line of scrimmage. Caught our people off guard.
