When I was a school kid, the School for the Deaf was on St. Ferdinand
Street in an old building that looked like a set for a horror movie.  We
lived a few blocks away.  One day I went over to watch a high school
JV team play their team.  Our team expected to win easily, but it was
not to be.  Instead of going into a huddle, their quarterback called plays
in sign language at the line of scrimmage.  Caught our people off guard.
