>From what I have read, they are purposefully sending disconnect packets to bittorrent clients, or otherwise throttling the speed. We use a lot of bittorrent at my place, and the lag is noticable. The problem is that it is not just throttling bittorrent traffic, but overall bandwidth to my modem (or so it seems).
I have also read that qwest throttles encrypted traffic (https, ssh, anything encrypted) speakeasy only offers a t1 line for something like $400 a month to my house. There is another local ISP (mesanetworks.net) that looks pretty nice, but they are kind of expensive and their bandwidth kinda sucks... not that speakeasy is cheap --mat On Nov 20, 2007 3:56 PM, Shannon Roddy <sroddy at gmail.com> wrote: > Isn't it comcast that is sending tcp resets to traffic the "think" is > not appropriate? > > On Nov 20, 2007 1:57 PM, mat branyon <mat.branyon at gmail.com> wrote: > > Yea, but now I can afford all the fancy stuff :) > > > > I am now trying to decide whether I want comcast or qwest for internet. > > They both suck pretty bad (and I actuallly have them both right now). > I'll > > probably go with comcast since I hear that qwest blocks everything > > encrypted.
