speaking of the netbooks...
dell recently came out with their version of a netbook, which you can
get ubuntu installed.
The Inspiron Mini 9. Starting at $349.

But what sucks is that it doesn't really look like you save a lot by
getting ubuntu installed instead of
XP.

The only difference I see from the Ubuntu and XP versions is the 4-8GB
solid state HD. So, if you add the 8GB
HD to the Ubuntu mini, then you might be saving $15 by going with
Ubuntu... which doesn't seem right.
