Hi, I was wondering if anyone knew about ISP's in New Orleans?

We are thinking about switching to Satalite for TV, and would need to get
internet from somewhere.

I've seen a few places with wifi antenna's pointing downtown. Is there a
wireless ISP in new orleans, or is that some TV thing? I know there is regular
wifi around the FQ, CBD, and parts of uptown along St Charles & Magazine.

I don't really want to go with ATT. I suppose other DSLs may be fine, but I try
to boycott ATT. Especially with the IPhone fiasco, and other recent issues they
are acting monopolistic again, I am once again boycotting ATT.

I have left the RBOC 6 times. Once when ATT started offering local services for
businesses. $3200 bill became $2400 with much better service. Then again when
ATT merged with the RBOC.

For home service, I left them for a CLEC, but was forced back when they shut
out the POT's Clec's and then went with ATT CallVantage. I finally left ATT
CallVantage (VOIP) last month-merging ATT with the RBOC's finally took its
toll. Heck vonage is not as good, but after being jerked around the the "NEW
ATT" I could not take it.

Now I am getting rid of ATT wireless because of there lack of IPhone support!
-- I only went with them because the IPhone is the best smart phone out there.

Thanks
