Hong Kong.. The most free place to live on the planet. Apart from Lafayette, the pricing for high speeds are ridiculous. Even the metro-E, while appear reasonably priced for companies, one have to remember it is nothing else but access to the "loop". One still needs to buy an internet access from the metro-E network and that is the expensive part. (2nd connection point + the Internet access) Also, for one conenction speed, there are at least 2 prices. If you need QoS, the higher one apply. I would vote for HongKong pricing. 1Gb connection for $26/mo. Thumbs up for Lafayette for doing something right. I bet It was not easy to fight the incumbents on and off the court for 4 years. I assume it would be very expensive, but doable... actually, if i remember correctly, at a previous employer, we had a 10Mbs for $800/month. and I think 100Mbs was $2000/month. http://www.coxbusiness.com/products/data/metroethernet.html http://www.business.att.com/enterprise/Service/access-enterprise/ethernet-service-enterprise/metro-ethernet-enterprise/state=Louisiana/ bb On Tue, Jul 27, 2010 at 8:07 AM, Dustin Puryear <[email protected]<mailto:[email protected]>> wrote: > Thanks everybody. > > > > From: [email protected]<mailto:[email protected]> > [mailto:[email protected]<mailto:[email protected]>] On Behalf > Of Andrew Baudouin > Sent: Monday, July 26, 2010 5:53 PM > To: [email protected]<mailto:[email protected]> > Subject: Re: [brlug-general] High-speed Internet access in Baton Rouge > > > > Wow....
