Subject: Re: [brlug-general] Google CR-48 Laptop

I have one, but I am in Colorado.

I am not a big fan of the whole cloud thing, but i thought, hey, free laptop,
so i gave it a shot. I haven't had too much time to dive into it, but so far
it seems really nice. What I think would be killer is if they could get
something like netflix on it, or really any good streaming video service.

You can pull up a super simple terminal (or you can just put it in dev mode,
and pull up a full terminal, which i have not done yet). an ssh client is
installed, but i don't think its the openssh client.

wireless and other settings are pretty straight forward. good battery life,
super fast boot, defaults to a suspend to ram i believe, pretty good power
savings mode. you cannot have multiple users logged in at once (no user
switching), but supposedly, you can sit down at any chrome os and just log in
with your gmail account or whatever.

if you have any specific questions, i can check for you

I wasn't aware of the pilot program, but I've applied now, thanks. I
was a gmail beta tester, so I used that old email address in the app,
I wonder if they'll notice that... or if it will help any.
