Given that the Evo is an Android 2.2 vs 2.3 on the Nexus S - and I'd be stuck 
with it for two years on a contract... I'd prefer to at least start out with 
something up to date.  I think the chance of Sprint updating the Evo is close 
to zero.

But I see your point about picking a "free" phone ... that's an approach that I 
hadn't considered - thanks!
