Classification: UNCLASSIFIED Caveats: NONE We have found that we cannot authenticate to the Marklogic admin when the authentication is set to digest instead of basic. The problem only happens in IE7. It works correctly in Firefox. This issue occurs with Marklogic 3.2-9 and 4.0-2.
We want to set the authentication level to digest instead of basic because it is more secure. I have read some articles about IE7 having problems with digest authentication but they are from 2 years ago during the beta and were supposed to be fixed. We are doing what is suggested in the articles: setting the user authentication logon to "automatic logon with current user name and password" in the client ie7 but it still loops and asks for authentication over and over without ever letting you in. In Firefox there is no issue with this. Does anyone know more about this? Thanks.
