Hi all,

I was just wondering if there was anyone who ever tried to test match patterns
in Xquery or MarkLogic? If not, does anyone have an idea? I don't really need
this functionality, it is more out of interest whether it would be possible.

One solution I can think of, is just prepending // in front of the pattern (if
it is relative), execute the pattern and ask MarkLogic whether the resulting
nodeset contains the node to which I am testing the pattern. So basically it
would become something like: xdmp:value(concat('//', $match-pattern, ' =
$current-node')). I guess it will work, but will default indexing of MarkLogic
make it perform reasonably?

Kind regards,
Geert
