Our project includes data in languages not covered by the ISO 639.2
two-letter language codes (classical Greek, Old English, etc.), so we're
planning to change all our tagging from the exiting alpha-2 to alpha-3
codes. MarkLogic documentation says that the natural language functions
and server settings can use either the 2-letter or 3-letter codes. I've
verified, for example, that a French-language search works equally well
with "fr", "fre", "fra" or even "fr-FR".

However, the alpha-3 forms often give a choice between the
"bibliographic" and the "terminology" form. Even if MarkLogic currently
accepts either, is one form preferable?
