In the security guide it states:

"If you change an HTTP or WebDAV server from basic to digest authentication, it
will invalidate all passwords in the security database. You must then reenter
the passwords in the Admin interface."

How does that work? I have a few different servers (some HTTP, some WebDAV,
all using digest) and I created a new HTTP server with basic authentication. I
logged into that server using one of the existing users and that worked. I
then changed the new server to digest and I still could log in without updating
the passwords.

What situations force the invalidation? What am I not understanding? It does
not seem to be behaving as I would expect.

Thanks.
