I know Michael Blakeley was trying to say the same thing 
with the test case he sent a while ago.  But I do think you've said it in a 
way that might actually sink in with folks a bit more.

Given that we do have some entries, I feel quite obliged to stick with 
the current deadline.

That said, I do expect to announce some additional bounties next month.

And, it certainly seems plausible that I could open up a bounty for significant
improvements over any good, but not great, implementations we get for the 
current 
challenge that ends today, September 30th.  Before deciding on that, of course, 
we'll first review the existing entries. 
 
Assuming you can't make the current deadline,  I'd recommend you watch
here and/or http://developer.marklogic.com/blog for the results of the
current contest(s).
